The First British Boer Goat Show – Royal Three Counties Show 2014
On the 20 June 2014 we packed up our south african boer goats into the trailer and headed off down the motorway to the Royal Three Counties show in Malvern, Worcestershire. This year at the show the British Boer Goat Society were running their first ever British Boer Goat Show. This event, which is hopefully going to become an annual event, allows boer goat breeders throughout the country to meet up, have fun and show off what they think is the best of their herd. There was going to be 8 different categories for the judging.
However not only was it a first for the British Boer Goat Show but it was also the first time that we had showed our South African Boer Goats as Whalandaw Boer Goats.
The first judging category that we had an entry was the Class 1 Doe Kids Under 1 Year. There was a total of 15 entries in the category and we came third with my doe kid Whalandaw Luna. A great start to the day.
In the Class 3 Bucklings Over 1 Year Under 2 Years section there was very strong competition but South African Boer Goats Beech Hay Imminent Force took the first place. Beech Hay Imminent Force also won the Champion Adult Male.
I am now pleased to say that Imminent Force is now part of my breeding stock as I purchased him from Rob & Vicky. Really looking forward to seeing his offspring in 2015 and hopefully we will have some South African Boer Goats champions to show.
In the Class 5 Doe section there was 8 entries and once again we managed to get into the top three. Third place was taken by my nursing doe Intake Lane Lola.
All in all a very good day.
